Meet the Staff!
Sarah Russo
Mrs. Russo served 4 years as a Music Educator in Florida, before relocating to Maryland when her husband was accepted into the Army Field Band. Most recently, Mrs. Russo has worked for Howard County Public Library in children's and teen services as a instructor and research specialist, receiving an achievement award for her work in 2012. She has served on the Young Adult Library Association's Teen Read Week Committee, several ALA Task Forces and has written for YALS magazine, and the YALSA blog. She is a member of Maryland Society for Educational Technology, and a lifetime member of the Maryland Association of School Librarians. She is currently serving on the Black Eyed Susan Graphic Novel selection committee for Grades 6-9.
Media HoursThe Media Center is open from 7:45AM until 3:00PM.
After school hours are permitted with direct teacher supervision. The CollectionWilde Lake Middle School has a collection of over 10,000 items available for check out. Reference texts, and magazines may only be checked out overnight. All other materials may be borrowed for 3 weeks, with one renewal (pending student and staff wait lists).
Students who have overdue books at the time of the quarterly activity will lose time off of the quarterly activity. You will not receive your year-end report card until your books are returned and any balances are paid in full! Computer UseComputers in the Media Center are available for students and staff to use for educational purposes only. Please get permission from the media staff before logging in.

Visiting the Media Center
In the morning, students should check in with their homeroom teachers and obtain a pass from the homeroom teacher.
Students must get a pass from the lunchroom monitor before visiting the media center. When visiting at other times during the day, in addition to getting a pass - make sure the classroom teacher phones the media center to be sure that staff is available to accept visitors . Regardless of when you come, check in with the media center staff. PrintingAsk permission before printing & always preview before you send (make sure you're only printing what you need!). Choose smaller fonts like Garamond or Courier when possible.
